The Institut français d'Ecosse proudly announces the second edition of its Harpsichord en fête festival in partnership with St. Cecilia’s Hall Concert Room and Music Museum, home of the University of Edinburgh’s internationally renowned collection of musical instruments. Become a member and be the first informed of our events. If you are not yet a member of the Institut français d'Ecosse, we invite you to join. Already a member? Book your place early!
Taking place between 20-27 March 2020, the festival will be hosting European and local artists such as John Kitchen and Sally Carr; Jan Waterfield, Rory McCleery, and László Rózsa; 4 Times Baroque; Giulia Nuti; David Gerrard, Naomi Burrell, and Gavin Kibble; and Diego Ares. The artists have selected different harpsichords dating from 1574 to 1769 from St. Cecilia’s Hall and will be performing directly on these historical instruments. The festival will also celebrate historical dances with a dream-like ball led by Talitha MacKenzie from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and accompanied at the harpsichord by Tiffany Wong.
Our programme for this new edition is finalised and we are excited to share the artists that will be joining us for the festival:
