A la recherche de la Princesse de @Montpensier Musical lecture by Aurore Evain A collaboration with Dr Séverine Genieys-Kirk and the University of Edinburgh

To speak about “Matrimoine” is to valorize the image of the female creators who have built our History. Aurore Evain, artist and scholar, will analyse the case of the first actresses and female playwright in order to consider the implications of the actual considerations about “Matrimoine”. Indeed through these feminine figures, a term imposes itself, “autrice” (“authoress”), a term fought by many, but that has resisted through the centuries; which acknowledges for the ever-lasting presence of women in creation.
This event is organized in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures, as part of Dr Séverine Genieys-Kirk’s series of public events, Learning to see the power of women: cultural encounters between past and present.
