Cinéma : Le Collier Rouge

The cinema programme at the Institut français d'Ecosse screens a new film every Wednesday at 2:00pm and 6:45pm. These events are free, but for members only. We invite you to book early and if you are not yet a member of the Institut français d'Ecosse, we invite you to join. Our film this week is Le Collier Rouge by Jean Becker.

Synopsis:
In 1919, in a small town suffocating under the summer heat, a war hero is imprisoned in deserted barracks. In front of the door, his old dog barks day and night. Not far from there, in the countryside, a young woman who is worn out from working the land, and too educated to remain a mere peasant, bides her time. The judge coming to take charge of the case is an aristocrat whose principles have started to waver because of the war. Among these characters, it is his dog that might hold the key to his salvation.

Starring François Cluzet, Nicolas Duvauchelle, Sophie Verbeeck.
