DOD Lecture Series: Thinking globally and acting locally - about Edinburgh

What are the global trends and international obligations that Edinburgh’s citizens and policy makers need to be aware of? How have they put Edinburgh on a strong growth trajectory, and is it sustainable? The talk will set Edinburgh in its European and global context and explore disruptions that could shape its future. Cliff Hague is Chair of the Cockburn Association and Emeritus Professor of Planning and Spatial Development at Heriot-Watt University.

This lecture is part of the week-long Doors Open Days lecture series, organised by the Cockburn Association. Each day there are two lectures exploring different aspects of Edinburgh’s architectural heritage and global connections. On 28th and 29th September, 149 buildings across Edinburgh and East Lothian will be open to you to explore for free.
