About Anissa Bouziane
After living and working in New York City where she witnessed 9/11 for more than a decade, Anissa moved back to Morocco in 2002 and then to France.
Her first book Dune Song tells the story of 9/11 seen from the perspective of an Arab-American woman. With Dune Song, she received prizes including 2019 First Book Award of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Special Jury Prize of Casablanca’s Prix Littéraire Sofitel Tour Blanche.
Author published internationally with her novel Dune Song, Anissa’s writes originally in English. However, Dune Song saw its first publication in French translation.
The Prix Goncourt winner, Fouad Laroui describes Dune Song as “both precise and lyrical, this novel of epic scope suggests it’s through service towards those whom fortune has forsaken that one can truly find peace.”
Currently doing a PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Warwick, Anissa is working in her new novel.
