Exhibition: Near and Far. Art and stories by Marie-Alice Harel.

Gathered together for the first time, the Institut français d'Écosse is delighted to present more than 20 original illustrations from the books Omoiyari and Hortari by Edinburgh based artist and author Marie-Alice Harel.

Omoiyari takes you into an imaginary ancient Japan, and asks the question “where do stories come from?”.

Hortari is a collection of 15 illustrated short stories about unlikely adventurers and seekers.

Both books were translated and published in France this year.
