From Thursday 21st of November to Sunday 24th November, Previously… will be offering our visitors a wide range of interesting events this year at the Institut français:

Day 1 - 21 November 2019

Satan and the Scots with Dr. Mikki Brock

  • Where: Institut français, Salle Emilienne Moreau-Evrard (1st Floor)
  • When: 21 November 2019, 6.30pm-7.30pm
  • About this event: This talk explores the historical development of ideas about Satan and the influence that belief in the devil has had on people’s lives, especially in post-Reformation Scotland. We’ll discuss the role of the devil in witch-hunting, sermons, cases of blasphemy, and the making of Scottish identity.
