As principal keyboard player of ‘Gabrieli Consort & Players’, Jan travels throughout Europe & beyond, playing music that ranges from 1585-1801. She has collaborated on many of the Gabrieli’s award-winning recordings, including the Gramophone Award winning ‘A New Venetian Coronation’ (as player and researcher) and their recent highly acclaimed ‘King Arthur’ by Henry Purcell. She also enjoys playing with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Academy of Ancient Music, the Dunedin Consort & the Scottish Ensemble, as well as her partnerships with colleagues such as László Rózsa & Rory McCleery. Jan also teaches & lectures at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, inspiring students in the arts of figured bass, historical tuning and improvisation. She can sometimes be found playing the piano accordion with an acoustic trio, ‘Kleyne Klezmer’.

Rory McCleery is much in demand as a countertenor soloist and has performed at venues including Edinburgh’s Usher Hall, the Concertgebouw Bruges, the NOSPR in Katowice and the Royal Chapel of the Palace of Versailles. Rory began his musical career as a chorister in the choir of St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh. He gained a double first in Music and an MSt in Musicology with Distinction from Oxford University. Rory is also the founder and director of Gramophone Award-nominated vocal ensemble The Marian Consort, with whom he performs across the UK, Europe, North America and the Far East.

László was born in Budapest in 1989, where he began his musical education. As a soloist and chamber musician he enjoys a varied freelance career both in the UK and abroad, sharing the platform with distinguished musicians such as Michael Chance, John Butt, and Jan Waterfield, and performing with leading early music ensembles and orchestras including the Dunedin Consort, Spiritato!, Ars Eloquentiae, and Oxford Baroque. Besides performing, he is a keen educator, currently teaching at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the University of Glasgow.

The concert programme will be available to download shortly.
