Our cinéma programme for Institut members is back in full force, screening a new film every Wednesday at 2:00pm and 6:30pm. These events are free, but for members only. We invite you to book early and if you are not yet a member of the Institut français d'Ecosse, we invite you to join. Our film this week is Cherchez la femme by Sou Abadi (2017, 1h38min).
Synopsis:
Armand and Leila, students at Science Po in Paris, are a young couple. But when Leila’s older brother Mahmoud comes back from living in Yemen where he was radically transformed, he is opposed to his sister’s romantic relationship and decides to keep her away from Armand at all costs. In order to get inside Mahmoud’s flat and see Leila again, Armand has no choice but to don a Burka and pose as Leila’s religious tutor.
Starring Félix Moati, Camélia Jordana, and William Lebghil
